신부님만 백인! Only father is white!

Conforti church. 우리집에서 5분 거리에 있는 성당. 성당을 지은 Xavirian missionary의 창설자 Conforti를 기념해서 이름을 지었다. 예수님도 성모님도 흑인, 유일하게 신부님만 백인이다. ^^*

흑인으로 그려진 예수님은 마르긴 했지만, 근육질이다. 남녀가 오른쪽, 왼쪽으로 나누어 앉는 습관은 대만의 수이웨이와 비슷하다. 남자들은 하얀 셔츠와 긴 바지를, 여인들은 저마다 아프리카 전통의상을 멋지게 차려 입었다.

Quuesta e` la nostra Parrocchia in Makeni, Conforti Church, il fondatore dei Saveriani. Il nostro prete che celebra e` Italiano, si chiama Natale ed e` stato in Messico tanti anni prima di arrivare qui. C'e` poi Vittorio che e` il parroco.

離家５分鐘，有個教堂。爲了紀念 Xavirian missionary的創始人Conforti而叫Conforti　church。

主日有兩趟彌撒，早上用英文，再晚一點的用這裡的語言Ｋｒｅｏ。神父是意大利人叫ＮＡＴＡＬＥ。男左女右，男生穿白襯衫長褲自，女生則穿非洲傳統的衣服。耶穌和聖母都是黑人，唯獨身負是白人。耶穌變黑人以後感覺肌肉非常發達，讚！

It is Friday again.....

And we have access to Internet!
Only a few sentences because I'm preparing my first lesson! A lesson of Computer Software! I don't know nothing about it! And I have been presented as an expert here ... it really true that we must adapt ourselves to do everything.
These past three days we lived without electricity as we spent two days without water. This situation made me think that turning on the lights or a tap are gestures almost unconscious for some of us.
But it is not like that everywhere, I think that here it will take long time before these facilities ( because of facilities we are speaking about) will be reached by many.
Life here is going well, with different timing and way to do things,to which we have slowly get used to.
Now I'm late for the first lesson! See you soon!

安東上學了！

安東開始上幼稚園了。聖若瑟幼稚園，好像在這裡很有名。

穿上紅色幼稚園服，每天早上還是一副滿不情願的樣子。

不過，回家時都會說“今天很開心！”希望他在這裡交朋有，

快樂的玩耍。

안토니오가 유치원에 다니기 시작하다! 마케니에서 명문(?)

성요셉 유치원. 매일 아침 유치원에 갈 때는 여전히 가기 싫다고 짜증을 부리지만, 학교에 데리러 갈때면 싱글싱글 웃으며

다른 친구들에게 손을 흔들며 인사한다. 첫날은 "my name is Antonio"를 배웠고, 어제는 "Monday, Tuesday,...."를 배웠단다. 즐겁게 뛰어놀고, 신나는 시간을 보내길........

Antonio starts his first week of Kinder garden. He attends

S.t Josep Nursery school. With his uniform he is happy.

Hope he can make many friends, play and enjoy every moment.

E` di nuovo Venerdi`

E noi abbiamo Internet!!!
Solo poche frasi perche` sto preparando la mia prima lezione! Un lezione di Computer Software ! A me lo hanno chiesto! E mi hanno presentato come un esperto...proprio vero che qui ci si deve adattare a fare di tutto.
Da tre giorni viviamo senza elettricita` e abbiamo passato due giorni senza acqua. Mi ha fatto pensare che da noi accendere la luce o girare un rubinetto sono due gesti ormai entrati nel vissuto comune, direi quasi inconsci.
Ma non e` cosi da tutte le parti, qui ci vorra` ancora molto tempo prima che queste comodita` (perche` di questo si tratta) saranno a portata di molti.
La vita qui procede bene, con tempi e modalita` diverse alle quali ci dobbiamo piano piano abituare.
Ora basta che senno` faccio tardi per la prima lezione! A presto!!

african food

첫날부터 공항에 우리를 픽업하러 와 주었던 기사 Ibraim이 아프리카 음식을 해서 가져다 준 주일 점심! 생선과 야채를 넣고 고추와 아프리카 소스(? 아직 탐색중) 기름 등을 넣어서 만든 요리와 밥을 함께 먹었다. 안토니오를 생각해서 안 맵게 만들었단다. 너무 맛있었다.나중에 아프리카 식당을 열자는 마르꼬....ㅋㅋ 맛있는 점심, 재밌는 이곳 이야기.

Driver of University, Who came to pick us up at Airport first day, came to our house with delicious african food. Although we don't know what kind of source he used, it was really

good. Fish and Vegetable dish and stemmed rice. Even Antonio likes them and ate them a lot! Thank you Ibraim!

It is quite hard try to upload this blog, the internet connection of the university doesn't works very well.
Antonio started to go at the Kindergarten, he is the only white kid, other children like him, they all play with him.
Yesterday when he arrived home he was very happy, he said that he likes the new school, the teachers and the new friends. But, anyway, this morning he was crying again......
We are fine, there are some little problems that we meet everyday, but the whole situation is really good!

Antonio's first African friend Josep

하루는 루이스가 그의 아들 죠셉을 데리고 집에 놀러왔다.

죠셉이 "아빠또(백인)"를 보러 가자고 했단다. 과자를 한봉지 들고와서 안토니오에게 주고

한 봉지 과자를 다 먹을 때즈음, 안토니오가 죠셉의 손을 잡고 자기 방으로 데리고 갔다.

그리고 둘이 각자의 언어로 어울려 놀기 시작했다. 안토니오의 첫 아프리카 친구~!

One day, Luise came with his little son Josep. Josep gave Antnio a pack of cookies.

When Antonio finished eating them, he suddenly hold Josep's hand and went to his room.

They played with their own language together. Antonio's first African friend Josep.

Now, Antonio started his kinder school from yesterday. Hope He makes lot's of good friends.

一天LUISE帶他的兒子Josep來訪問我家。其實是小Josep跟他的爸爸說；“我想去看那個阿帕都（白人）。”

他有給安東一包餅乾，當餅乾吃完時，安東突然伸手抓住 Josep，拉他一起去他的房間。

他們各自用自己的語言一起玩，玩得很開心。安東的第一个非洲朋友Josep。

마케니에 와서 우리에게 가장 많은 도움을 주고 있는 학교의 직원 루이스.

안토니오 또래의 아들 죠셉이 있어서, 안토니오를 엄청 귀여워합니다.

아프리카는 도로 사정이 험해서 그런지, 주로 이렇게 큰 오토바이를

볼 수 있답니다.

루이스의 오토바이에 올라타고, 신이 난 안토니오!

학교 가세보(풀로 엮은 그늘막)에 앉아서...글을 쓰고 있습니다.

Firsts troubles . . . .

Today when we were going to see the kindergarten for Antonio, we have a car accident. A motorcycle tried to overpass another one, but since the road was full of motorcycles and other cars were parked on a side of the road, the motorcycle crashed into our van. It has been terrible, in a while a man and a woman were lying down the road. Our driver and the other university officer who were bringing us at the school got off from the car and immediately many people arrived and started to complain some, to discuss others. We did not get off by the car, and after few minutes the driver and the other guy got on the car and we went out from that hell.

We were so shocked! The traffic here seems without any rule and all occurred so fast.....

Anyway, we still alive ….alla prossima!

我們在獅子山

大家好，我們已經到了獅子山。天氣還沒那麼熱，所以到現在我們過得很好！

我們要工作的那個大學跟臺灣比起來落後多了，但是他們在進步得很快。下個月我們開始教書。

我們的房子當然比水尾的房子少了很多，但是我們有三個房間，三個廁所，一個廚房！

非洲的菜很辣，但是我們每天在家做飯。菜與水果不貴，但是肉類不便宜！大概這次真的可以減肥！！

我們很想你們！

Firsts Days in Makeni

In these days has been not so easy to be connected, yesterday we tried to use the university internet, but it was impossible to use it. We go everyday at the market to buy food and other stuffs.

People are very friendly and very kind. We got some good friends among the workers of the university, and we hope that we'll be able to establish good relationships also with our neighbors and with the people of the market.

We will start to teach next month, therefore now we are trying  to get used with the new way of life.

Antonio is very well but we think that will be very important for him to go to a kindergarten and make new friends.

Ciao a tutti, rieccoci qua! internet ieri ha fatto cilecca, ho provato la mattina ma senza successo. Internet si puo usare la mattina dalle otto all'una e la sera dalle 6.30 alle 10.00 ma a quell'ora per noi diventa un poco difficile gestire antonio, e poi non essendoci la corrente il tragitto da casa all'universita` diventerebbe molto pericoloso fra buche macchine moto ecc.........

Oggi andremo a vedere un asilo per Antonio, speriamo bene, credo abbia bisogno di uscire e fare amicizie! A presto

Greetings from Makeni

Hello everybody, I am writing from the University.
We arrived in Sierra Leone from Rome after a stop in Casablanca which welcomed us in Terra d'Africa!!!
The School provided a very comfortable and pretty house, it will be our sweet home for this year!


Eccoci arrivati in Sierra Leone dopo un passaggio da Casablanca. Siamo arrivati all'aeroporto, in un bagno di sudore, alle 3 di notte. In mezzo a una festosa confusione abbiamo sbrigato le pratiche del visto e ritirato i bagagli e fortunatamente abbiamo trovato qualcuno che dall'universita` ci e` venuto a prendere.
Dimenticavo di dire che nel piccolo tragitto dalla dogana all'uscita (l'aeroporto e` grande come la cucina di  mio padre....) tre diversi poliziotti ci hanno chiesto una mancia, chiaramente non data.
Adesso siamo sistemati bene in una accogliente casetta con tre stanze, cucina e tre bagni, giusto quello che fa per me!!
Prossimamente metteremo alcune foto!!!

Tomorrow we will go in Rome, we are infinitely grateful to our family in Carrara.


언제부터 자르려고 자르려고 마음만 먹던 마르꼬의 머리를 드디어 자르다. 시에라리온에 가면

날씨가 매우 더울것 같아서, 다 늦은 밤에 이발하다. 이발사는 러시안 이발사 밀라~!

Today is the - 7 day before our departure for Sierra Leone! Therefore, according to the doctor's advises, we have to start to take our anti-malaria tablets.

The Italian healthcare system is very good, we take all these medicines for free!! Will be us able to defeat the P. Falciparum with the help of our Lariam 250 mg?

We will know it very soon . . . . .


d-7, 오늘은 시에라리온으로 떠나기 일주일 전이다. 의사의 권유에 따라 우리는 말라리아 예방약을 먹기 시작했다.

이탈리아의 의료체제는 우리에게 큰 도움을 주었는데, 자원가 대우를 받아서 필요한 예방접종도 무료로, 말라리아 약의 처방도 무료로 받았다. 경제적인 여건이 좋건 나쁘건, 살아가는데 최소한의 의료행위를 제공하는 건,경제위기의 정부에서도 지켜진다. 그리고 국적이나 신분에 상관없이, 문진의원이 아닌 응급실은 무료로 개방되어 있다.

飛往獅子山還有7天的時間。按照醫生的建議我們開始吃了第一顆預防瘧疾的要。雖然在韓國拿了一些葯，不過這裡的醫生說那種葯在這個地區作用不大。因此，在意大利又領了 Lariam 250。

意大利的醫療系統不錯，因爲我們在那邊薪水不高，所以醫生有給我們申請自願者的身分因此一些需要大的預防針是免費的。防瘧疾的葯，因爲我們的經濟情況也較差，算是沒有收入。（哈哈）所以葯也是免費領的。不管這個國家經濟的情況有多麽的不景氣，不過對病人需要的葯，緊急的治療，不管他的經濟情況如何會得到治療。

We are already arrived at the first day of the year 2012. Next week we will leave Italy (as we already left Taiwan and Korea) and we'll go in Sierra Leone, where we'll teach Cultural Anthropology and Chinese at the university of Makeni. For us this is a dream come true, we started planning this experience many time ago.

We would like to start this blog with a big thanks to our families, who have supported and encouraged us in many ways.

We would like to share with you all our experiences, pictures and words, and we will do it through these pages.

벌썬 2012년의 첫 날이 밝았다. 이제 다음주면 우리는(대만과 한국을 떠나왔듯) 이탈리아를 떠나서 시에라리온에 갈 것이다. 우리는 마케니대학에서 문화인류학과 중국어를 가르칠 것이다. 꿈이 실현되는 대망의 순간, ^__^우리는 이러한 계획을 위해 꽤 많은 준비를 해 왔다.

물심양면으로 지원을 아끼지 않는 가족들과 친구들에게 감사하는 마음으로 이 웹싸이트를 제작하게 되었다. 이 페이지를 통해서, 우리의 경험과 사진들 그리고 이야기를 나누어 갈 것이다.

已經到了2012年的第一天。下周我們將離開意大利（像臺灣和韓國一樣），到獅子山共和國。我們將在那裏的MAKENI大學教文化人類學和中文。爲了實現這個夢想，我們花費一段時間計劃和預備。
